It is all well and good to wax eloquent about the characteristics of the Japanese society while contrasting it to the death of Dr. Tiller. I don't suppose you found time to inquire of your Japanese hosts why it is that Pearl Harbor is not discussed in Japanese schools, or to ask what in the Japanese character produced the Rape of Nanking? I'm looking to synthesize your limited view of Japan.
